Since September 2025, we've tested our ideas with over 2000 students through our flagship learning experiences. Using real-world behavioural insights to guide everything we build.

Childhood has changed
but play hasn't kept up.
Digital exposure is now inseparable from childhood. For the first time in history, an entire generation is growing up surrounded by AI. These technologies are not designed for children, but they shape how the next generation will learn, play, socialize and make sense of the world. Right now, it is not looking good. Across age groups (0-18), excessive screen exposure is increasingly associated with poorer sleep, reduced physical activity, delayed cognitive development, emotional and behavioural challenges compounding to worsening mental & physical health. In India alone, the average screen time for children below five is ≥2 h/day - far above pediatric safety limits. For children above five it is a staggering 3.5 to 8.5 hours of screen exposure every day. Caregivers and institutions are in a dilemma. Parents want their kids to stay engaged, curious and independent - without screens. Educators want to prepare students for the evolving world, without compromising on cognitive ability. However, we believe that the ways in which the young ones interact with technology will also shape new ways of AI enabled human-computer interaction. Elseplay Labs is uniquely positioned to solve this problem at the intersection of computing interfaces, adaptive play and experiential learning environments. We built the distribution system and “playground” before the product - a growing community of over 2000 learners via our hands-on STEAM programs. We are using real-world behavioural insights from the field to build a voice-first AI companion for kids that encourages movement and exploration. Over the next 10 years, we envision personalized play & learning companions embedded as a part of childhood - specially trained with emotional and contextual intelligence. The future of childhood and computing interfaces is being built right now. We intend to help.
